Ground mount solar is particularly well-suited to NZ farms because of the available land, high rural electricity costs, and the critical need to keep operations like milking and irrigation running reliably. Ground-mounted arrays are typically installed on a quarter hectare close to the dairy shed, making them easy to position near high-consumption operations and ideal for open land that isn't suitable for buildings and is not used for cropping.

How long does it take to install ground mount?

Normally ground mount takes 12-14 weeks to install from the moment the deposit is paid. However this will depend on the size and scale of the ground mount array.

How durable is it and can it handle NZ weather?

ZEN pride ourselves on a well-designed, premium ground mount solution which adheres to all of the AS/NZ standards, including wind load standard AS/NZS 1170.2 and top standards for Aluminium designs including NZS 1664.1 and NZS 1664.2.

What will it actually cost and what are the savings?

ZEN will provide a comprehensive quote including a detailed savings model, so you can clearly see your projected return before committing. Savings are calculated by estimating your annual solar generation, how much energy will be used on-site versus exported, and applying current electricity prices to each portion.
